About me

Welcome to Nekis Taste! I’m so glad you’re here.
My journey with food didn’t start in a professional kitchen—it started in my childhood home, where I first learned that cooking was a language of love. As a young girl, I was taught that the kitchen was a place to create, beginning with simple, humble dishes.
I quickly fell in love with the process. I remember standing in the kitchen, carefully following the steps, feeling a rush of excitement whenever I successfully pulled a dish together. My biggest cheerleader was my late father; his genuine praise and encouragement for every meal I attempted fueled my passion. Because of his support, I found myself constantly pushing to learn more, wanting to create better and more frequent meals just to see that smile on his face.
As I grew into my adolescence, I became the guardian of my mother’s kitchen traditions. I spent hours perfecting her recipes, learning the importance of spices, patience, and the perfect balance of flavors. These recipes are the roots of my culinary foundation, and they remain the heart of everything I cook today.
When I stepped into adulthood, my curiosity turned toward the world. I moved from my mother’s recipe books to the vast, endless library of the internet. I became obsessed with learning how people cook across the globe, researching techniques, ingredients, and traditions from every corner of the earth.

Today, Nekis Taste is the culmination of those years of learning. For me, cooking is more than just a hobby—it is my joy. Whether I am whipping up a quick meal for myself after a long day, hosting a dinner for dear friends, gathering family around the table, or even cooking for someone I’ve just met, I believe that food is the ultimate way to connect.
I’ve created this space to share the recipes that have shaped me, the new techniques I’m experimenting with, and the comfort that comes from a well-made meal.
I hope you find something here that inspires you to get into your own kitchen, try something new, and—above all—enjoy the process.
